Already for the 23rd time takes place in Basel from 26 to 28 September 2023 the ILMAC held. ILMAC has an undisputed position in Switzerland. Since 1959 it has been the only Swiss industrial exhibition for chemistry and life sciences that showcases all industrial applications of process and laboratory technology.

As an application-oriented trade show, ILMAC is aimed at specialists from the pharmaceutical, chemical, biotechnology, food, beverage, cosmetics and many other industries.

New rhythm and optimized visitor guidance:

Based on several visitor and exhibitor surveys and in order to meet the needs of the market, ILMAC will be held every two years from 2021. In addition, the trade show will be shortened to three days. This time, the event will be held directly in Hall 1.0.

About the Swiss market:

The life sciences and chemical industries are very strongly represented in Switzerland and form an important pillar of the economy. The market is currently undergoing a reorientation, production is being relocated back and companies based here are increasingly investing in Switzerland as a business location. The Basel area is considered one of the most important life sciences regions in Europe. Almost two thirds of all employees in the Swiss pharmaceutical industry work in this cluster. In addition, the majority of the Swiss value chain is generated in Basel and the surrounding area. Around one third of all Swiss exports and one fifth of all Swiss imports are attributable to pharmaceutical products. The global sales of the "top ten" Swiss chemical and pharmaceutical companies totaled CHF 147 billion in 2017.
